Summer Youth Enrichment Program
The Bethel’s Place Summer Youth Program takes place during the summer months starting in June and ending in early August. The program was created and designed to provide a safe haven for youth to enjoy participation in a wide range of programming and enrichment activities during summer break.
This year’s summer program will be in operation from June 8th–August 7th. Through partnerships with Be A Champion, Inc., the program provides accommodations for nearly 50 youth ages 5-15 years old in a safe environment filled with valuable learning experiences and fun activities.
During the program, students venture out on various field trips throughout the Houston area and neighboring communities as well as participate in daily group activities and courses. These activities and courses include Life Skills, Dance and Step, Physical Fitness, Arts & Crafts, and Media Production.
One special highlight for the program includes program participation in the Harris County Precinct One Street Olympics competition.
Founded in 1987, the Street Olympics Summer Games has grown to be one of the most popular events of the summer. The program is designed to provide organized athletic activity centered around games that young people traditionally play on the streets. These same games have been organized into positive, rewarding Olympic-Style competition. Each year, the Street Olympics prepares for an exciting summer that allows thousands of Harris County youth to learn new skills while competing in a safe, fun-filled environment.
The program’s culminating event will consist of a student showcase and parent night in which the youth participant will perform for their families and other invited guests.
